This cookie policy lists every cookie and tracking technology actually running on coetzglazing.co.za, and what each one is for. It is checked against the site rather than written from a template. Last reviewed 18 October 2026.
Your cookie choice
When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may set analytics and advertising cookies. Essential cookies are always set, because the shop cannot work without them. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Choosing Essential only keeps Google Analytics and Google Ads storage switched off. We have verified on the live site that no Google cookie is written in that state.
Strictly necessary
These cannot be switched off. Without them the cart, checkout and account login stop working.
- WooCommerce —
woocommerce_items_in_cart,woocommerce_cart_hashand the cart session, so your basket survives between pages. - WordPress login — only if you have an account and are signed in.
- cg_consent — ours. Records your cookie choice so the banner does not ask again. Six months.
Analytics and advertising — consent only
None of these run until you choose Accept all. The site uses Google Consent Mode, so before you choose, and permanently if you choose Essential only, advertising and analytics storage stay denied.
- Google Analytics 4 (via Google Analytics for WooCommerce) —
_ga,_ga_…. Tells us which pages and products people look at. - Google Ads —
_gcl_au. Tells us whether an advert led to an order. - Google for WooCommerce — connects our product catalogue to Google Shopping.
Cookies our other tools set
These are set by plugins that run the shop and our email. They are not advertising pixels, but they are not covered by the Google consent controls above either, so we list them separately rather than pretend otherwise.
- Order attribution (Sourcebuster, part of WooCommerce) —
sbjs_…. Records how you arrived at the site so an order can be credited to the right source. - AutomateWoo —
wp_automatewoo_visitor_…,wp_automatewoo_session_started. Used for order follow-ups and abandoned-cart reminders. - MailPoet —
mailpoet_subscriber,mailpoet_page_view. Used only if you have subscribed to our email list. - Jetpack and Jetpack Stats (Automattic) —
tk_…and a page-view request to stats.wp.com, giving us visitor totals. - 3CX Live Chat — browser storage used by the chat widget to keep a conversation open.
- Google Translate —
googtrans. Set only if you choose a language other than English from the language menu, to remember that choice. Functional; removed when you switch back to English.
What is installed but not running
TikTok for WooCommerce is installed on the site but is not currently loading a tracking pixel, so it sets nothing in your browser today. If we switch it on, this cookie policy will be updated first. We do not run Reddit or Snapchat integrations at all.
Turning cookies off in your browser
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working. Blocking the rest will not affect your ability to browse or order.
Cookie policy and your privacy
This cookie policy covers cookies and browser storage. For what we do with the information itself, who we share it with and your rights under POPIA, see our Privacy Policy.
Browser storage our own features use

Cookies are not the only way a website stores information in your browser. Some of our own features use your browser’s local or session storage instead. This cookie policy lists them too, because they work in a similar way:
- Your cookie choice (cg_consent and cg_consent_at). Stores which button you pressed on the cookie banner, and when, so the banner does not ask again. It is kept as a cookie and in local storage.
- The Coetz™ assistant. If you use the chat assistant, the conversation is kept in your browser’s session storage, so it survives moving between pages. Session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab.
- The project configurator. If you start configuring a project at get a quote, your selections are saved in local storage, so you can come back and finish later. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- The online estimator. The windows and doors you add to a project list on the estimator are saved in local storage until you clear them.
- Your language choice and messages already seen. The language you pick from the language menu, and whether you have already seen our pop-up messages, so they are not shown again.
None of these are used for advertising, and none are shared with anyone else.
Services your browser contacts directly

Some features load content from other providers. When that happens, your browser connects to the provider directly, which means the provider receives your IP address and basic browser information, as with any web request. None of these set advertising cookies on our behalf.
- Weather in the top bar. The current Johannesburg weather comes from Open-Meteo.
- Fonts and code libraries. Some fonts load from Google Fonts, and some code libraries load from the cdnjs content delivery network.
- Google Translate. Only if you choose a language other than English from the language menu: the text of the page is sent to Google to be translated. Prices, product codes, the chat assistant and your account, cart and checkout pages are not translated.
- Call-out booking map. On the automatic door call-out booking form, the address you type is looked up with OpenStreetMap’s address search services, and the map tiles load from OpenStreetMap. This only happens when you use the booking form.
What the chat assistant sends, and where
The Coetz™ assistant answers questions about our products. When you send a message, our server passes your recent messages (up to the last 12 in the conversation), and any photo you choose to attach, to Anthropic, the company that provides the AI model, so it can write a reply. Your browser does not contact Anthropic directly, and no cookie is set for the assistant.
To stop the assistant being misused, our server keeps a count of messages from each IP address for one hour. We also keep a record of questions and answers for 90 days, with email addresses and phone numbers removed. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the chat. For anything about an order, call 010 412 0062 or WhatsApp 076 613 4418. Our privacy policy explains how we handle the information you give us.

Changing your cookie choice

You can change your mind at any time. Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and choose again. If you switch from Accept all to Essential only, Google Analytics and Google Ads storage stop from that point on. To remove cookies already set, clear them in your browser settings. The Information Regulator publishes guidance on your rights under POPIA if you want to know more.
Cookie policy: common questions
Do you sell my data or use cookies to sell advertising?
No. Advertising cookies are used only to measure whether our own Google Ads lead to orders, and only if you choose Accept all.
Can I use the shop if I choose Essential only?
Yes. Browsing, the cart, checkout and your account all work with essential cookies only.
Why do some cookies run without asking?
Cart and checkout cookies are strictly necessary for the shop to work. The tools listed under “Cookies our other tools set” are not covered by the Google consent controls, so we list them openly rather than pretend they are switched off.
How often is this cookie policy updated?
Whenever we add or remove a tool that sets cookies or stores information in your browser. The date at the top shows the last review.
Who do I contact about this cookie policy?
Email sales@coetzglazing.co.za or call 010 412 0062. Our privacy policy names our Information Officer.
