Common questions about glass cut to size
What is the minimum size you will cut glass to?
There is no minimum dimension, but every pane is billed on a minimum area of 0.25 m². A 300 × 300 mm piece measures 0.09 m² and is still charged as 0.25 m². The R450 cutting fee per pane applies on top, so small panes work out dearer per square metre than large ones.
How much does glass cut to size cost?
Billable area multiplied by the rate for the glass you choose, plus a R450 cutting fee per pane. 6.38 mm Clear Laminated Safety Glass is R660 per m² and 8.38 mm Clear Laminated Safety Glass is R1 072,50 per m². Processing is extra: polished edges at R100 per linear metre. All prices exclude VAT, which the calculator shows separately.
Can you cut shapes or add holes?
Shapes, out-of-square panels and oversized panels are quoted through the custom request. Holes, cut-outs and waterjet cutting are not available: they can only be done on toughened glass, and we supply laminated glass only.
What glass can you cut to size?
The calculator prices six laminated safety glass options: 6.38 mm clear at R660 per m², the standard for doors, low-level and overhead glazing; 8.38 mm clear at R1 072,50 per m² where more strength or sound reduction is wanted; and, in 6.38 mm, obscure at R1 545,70, Colourvue Cool Tint at R1 330,45, Solarshield S10 Silver at R1 664,60 and Solarshield S10 Tint at R1 691,25 per m². All cut-to-size glass is laminated.
How long does a cut-to-size order take?
Lead time is confirmed after order review. It depends on the glass type, thickness, processing, stock availability and the order quantity, so it is given with your order confirmation rather than quoted upfront.
Can I return glass cut to my own measurements?
Normally no. Cut-to-size and processed glass is made to your measurements and cannot be returned, exchanged or cancelled once production has started, except where it is defective or does not match the accepted order. Measure the glass size you actually need rather than the frame opening — incorrect customer measurements remain the customer’s responsibility.
Do you deliver, or do I collect?
Collection is from the Coetz™ depot at Laser Park, Johannesburg. Delivery around Johannesburg is R750. Other areas are served by approved specialist courier or customer-arranged collection.

Every pane is cut precisely to your measurements and finished with the edgework you need – from a smooth arrised edge for framed glass to polished edges for exposed applications, plus radius corners where required. Returns and Cancellations
Cut-to-size and processed glass is manufactured to customer measurements and cannot normally be returned, exchanged or cancelled once production has started, except where the product is defective or does not match the accepted order.

Every pane is billed at a minimum of 0.25 m², so very small pieces cost the same as a 500 × 500 mm pane. The largest pane the glass price calculator will price online is 3 210 × 2 250 mm, in either direction; anything bigger needs a custom quote. Delivery around Johannesburg is R750, or you can collect from Laser Park.
