Looking for a recommended installer for aluminium windows and doors? Here is how our referral list works for customers and for installers.

Coetz™ Glazing is a supply-only manufacturer and does not carry out installation ourselves. We maintain a list of independent installers we can confidently recommend to our customers across Gauteng and nationwide. If you’re an experienced installer and would like to be considered, tell us about your business.

How the programme works
We supply premium aluminium windows, doors, glass and shopfronts direct to homeowners, builders and contractors. Many customers ask us to recommend a trusted installer to fit their order. When a request comes in for your service area, we refer customers from our vetted list — a steady source of local fitting work supplying Coetz™ products.

- Experienced aluminium and glazing installers.

For customers: finding a recommended installer
Because our aluminium windows and doors are supply only, many customers ask us for a recommended installer for aluminium products in their area. Here is how it works:
- Tell us where the job is and what you have ordered, or plan to order.
- We check our list of independent installers for your area.
- We pass on the details of a recommended installer, or tell you plainly if we do not have one for your area.
- You agree the work directly with the installer. The installation contract, price and workmanship guarantee are between you and the installer.
A recommended installer is an independent business, not part of Coetz™. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects in the product; problems caused by fitting are the installer’s responsibility.
What a good aluminium installer does
Whether or not you use a recommended installer, a good aluminium installer will:
- Check the openings before the units arrive, and confirm they are square, level and the right size.
- Pack and fix frames correctly, so sashes and sliding panels run smoothly and are not twisted.
- Seal around every frame to keep water out, and keep the drainage holes clear.
- Protect the finish during building work, keeping the packaging on until plastering and painting are done.
- Check every sash, door and lock before leaving the site.
- Explain care and maintenance, pointing you to our maintenance guide.
For installers: joining the recommended installer list
If you fit aluminium windows, doors and glazing, joining our recommended installer list puts you in front of customers who have already bought the product and need it fitted. We look for the experience, insurance and workmanship set out above. Being listed is at our discretion, and we review the list from time to time to make sure we can keep recommending every installer on it.
Questions to ask any installer before you book
Whoever fits your windows and doors, ask these questions before you agree a price:
- How long have you been fitting aluminium windows and doors? Ask to see photographs or addresses of recent work.
- Do you have public liability insurance? If something is damaged on site, you want to know it is covered.
- What is included in the price? Removal of old frames, making good around the openings, sealing, cleaning up and disposal are often quoted separately.
- How will you fix and seal the frames? A good answer covers packers, fixings, sealant and how water is kept out.
- How long will the job take, and how many people will be on site?
- What guarantee do you give on your workmanship, and is it in writing?
- Who checks the openings before the units are ordered? Coetz™ makes products to the sizes you order, so the openings need to be confirmed before you buy.
Preparing for installation day
A smooth installation starts before the installer arrives:
- Confirm the openings are ready. Lintels, sills and reveals should be finished, and the opening sizes should match what you ordered.
- Have the units on site and checked. Inspect every unit on delivery and report problems within 48 hours, as our returns policy requires.
- Clear access to every opening, inside and out, including furniture, curtains and burglar bars that must come off.
- Agree where offcuts and old frames will go.
- Plan for power and water if the installer needs them on site.
What to expect on the day
Most installations follow the same pattern. Old frames are removed where necessary. The new frame is positioned, packed level and square, and fixed. The gap around the frame is sealed, and sashes and sliding panels are adjusted so they run and lock properly. Glazing that is fitted on site is set in place and secured. Finally, the installer cleans the frames and glass and walks you through how everything opens, closes and locks.
Large sliding, stacking and folding doors take longer than windows, because the panels are heavy and the track must be perfectly level for the door to run smoothly. Allow extra time for these.
A short snag list for after installation
Before the installer leaves, check each unit yourself:
- Every sash and door opens, closes and locks without forcing.
- Sliding panels run smoothly along the full length of the track.
- There are no gaps in the sealant around the frame, inside or outside.
- Drainage holes at the bottom of the frame are clear.
- Glass and frames are clean, with no scratches or chips.
- The protective film is removed, unless it is being left on during further building work.
Note anything that needs attention and agree with the installer when it will be fixed. Problems caused by fitting are the installer’s responsibility; manufacturing defects are covered by our warranty.
Automatic doors and shopfronts
Automatic doors and shopfronts are different. They are installed by MC Automations, our parent company, so you do not need a separate installer. The MC-125 sliding and MCW-100 swing operators are installed with installation included in Gauteng and quoted per project elsewhere. See automatic doors and custom shopfronts for details.
Recommended installer: common questions
Does Coetz™ install aluminium windows and doors?
No. We manufacture and supply them. Automatic doors and shopfronts are the exceptions, installed by MC Automations, our parent company.
Is a recommended installer guaranteed by Coetz™?
No. Recommended installers are independent businesses. Agree the price, timing and guarantee directly with the installer.
Do you have installers outside Gauteng?
Sometimes. Tell us where the job is and we will check the list for your area.
