Description
Where a top hung aluminium window 900 × 900 works best
This size suits bathrooms, guest WCs, sculleries, laundries and pantries — rooms with a single external wall where the window sits high enough for privacy but still needs to clear steam and cooking smells. At 900 mm square it fits comfortably between standard brick coursing without a wide lintel, which keeps the structural cost down on a renovation.
Why a single opener at this size
One sash across the full 900 mm gives you the entire opening as ventilation rather than splitting it in half. In a small, humid room that matters: a single opener clears moist air far faster than two narrow vents of the same combined area, because the airflow is not broken by a centre mullion. It is one of the most specified sizes we build, which is why we keep the top hung aluminium window 900 × 900 as a standard catalogue item rather than a custom order.
Top hung aluminium window 900 × 900: fitting notes
The frame is manufactured at 890 × 890 mm, 10 mm under the catalogue size in each direction, which gives the fitting clearance for packing and sealing. Measure the brick opening rather than an existing frame. Because the sash swings outward, check there is nothing within the arc — a burglar bar frame, a downpipe or a boundary wall closer than about 600 mm will all interfere.
Glass and finish on this top hung aluminium window 900 × 900
Every unit is glazed as standard with 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass. Laminated glass holds together on impact because the interlayer retains the fragments, which is why it is our standard rather than an upgrade. The frame is powder coated in your choice of Black, White, Bronze, Charcoal or Natural Anodised.
Ordering this top hung aluminium window 900 × 900
This is a made-to-order unit with a lead time of 1–2 days from order. Aluminium windows and doors are supplied only — installation is arranged by your own builder or installer, which keeps the manufactured product separate from the installation contract. Collection is from Laser Park, Roodepoort, with Gauteng delivery and national supply options depending on the order and destination.
If your opening does not match this size, we manufacture to your dimensions — send the structural opening width and height and we will confirm what can be built. Final responsibility for measurements rests with the customer, so check the opening before ordering.
