On the East Rand, the doors we replace most are back doors, kitchen doors and front doors in older family homes. In many of these homes the original steel or timber door has rusted, warped or no longer locks. Coetz™ makes aluminium doors East Rand homeowners and builders can price online, from simple glazed hinged doors to fully clad doors and stable doors. Every door is made to order at Laser Park in Johannesburg in 1–2 days with 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass. The exceptions are our Patio sliding doors and a few large Elite sliding door sizes, which use toughened safety glass. This page covers glazed versus clad doors, replacement steps, real prices and delivery across Ekurhuleni.
Coetz™ supplies only. Your builder or a door installer fits the doors.

Aluminium doors East Rand: glazed, half clad or full clad?
Our hinged doors come with different amounts of glass:
- Glazed: glass from top to bottom, for the most light, e.g. a kitchen door onto a garden.
- Half clad: glass in the top half and solid aluminium cladding below. It’s practical for a back or scullery door where the bottom gets knocked.
- Full clad: solid cladding, for privacy on a door that faces a street or a neighbour.
Each comes in Classic, Victorian or Large Pane designs. You choose whether the door opens in or out when you order; it is built in at manufacture and costs the same either way.

Replacing an old door step by step
- Measure once the old frame is out. Steel door frames are usually built into the wall. Measure the width at three heights and the height at both sides, use the smallest figure, and order the next standard size. Our doors are made 10 mm smaller than the catalogue size.
- Check the floor level. The frame sits on the finished floor, so allow for new tiles.
- Choose in or out, and hinge side. Check the product drawing, which shows the door as viewed from inside.
- Keep or replace the security gate. Measure the gate opening at the same time.
- Make good. Your builder repairs the plaster around the new frame and seals it to the wall.

Stable doors for East Rand kitchens
A stable door is split across the middle, so you can open the top for air and light while the bottom keeps pets and small children in. It is a popular back door on the East Rand, where many kitchens open onto a yard. See aluminium stable doors.

- Opening direction: every product drawing is shown from inside, so check which panel slides or which way the leaf opens.
- Glass: 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass is standard, with obscure and tinted glass priced in the online estimator.
- Colour: White, Bronze and Charcoal cost the same; Black is about 10% more and Natural Anodised about 20% more.
