Aluminium stable door prices in South Africa depend on three things: the infill style, the height and the colour. Every Coetz™ stable door is 900 mm wide and comes in four styles, from fully glazed to solid cladding or louvres. This guide lists real aluminium stable door prices for every style and height, explains what drives the cost, and compares stable doors with ordinary hinged doors.

In this guide
What you are paying for
A stable door is two leaves in one frame: a top half and a bottom half that open separately or together. The split is fixed at 1 050 mm from the bottom, and the outer frame has a double woolpile seal. Because it has two leaves and a split rail, a stable door costs more than a single hinged door of the same size. Read how they work in our guide to aluminium stable doors.
Aluminium stable door prices
These aluminium stable door prices are for a 900 mm wide door in White, excluding VAT, at the time of writing (October 2026).
| Style | 900 × 2 100 | 900 × 2 400 | 900 × 2 600 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glass | R11 652 | R12 505 | R13 051 |
| Half glass, half cladding | R13 919 | R14 770 | R15 317 |
| Cladding | R15 848 | R17 562 | R18 683 |
| Y-Louvre inserts | R16 073 | R17 674 | R18 768 |
The fully glazed door is the least expensive; cladding and Y-Louvre infills cost more.

Colour and stable door prices
Colour changes aluminium stable door prices too. Bronze and Charcoal cost the same as White. Black costs about 10% more and Natural Anodised about 20% more. For a 900 × 2 100 mm half glass, half cladding door:
| Colour | Price |
|---|---|
| White, Bronze or Charcoal | R13 919 |
| Black | R15 311 |
| Natural Anodised | R16 703 |
See black aluminium stable doors for the dark finishes.
Opening direction
You choose open in or open out when you order, and aluminium stable door prices are the same either way. For a weather-facing back door, open out is the safer choice.
Stable door or hinged door?
| Door (900 × 2 100 mm, White) | Hinged | Stable |
|---|---|---|
| Fully glazed | R8 007 (Classic) | R11 652 |
| Half glass, half clad | R10 556 (Classic) | R13 919 |
| Fully clad | R12 743 (Classic) | R15 848 |
| Y-Louvre | R11 567 | R16 073 |
A stable door costs roughly R3 100 to R4 500 more than the equivalent hinged door. You are paying for the split: the top can open for air and light while the bottom keeps children and pets in. If you do not need that, a hinged door is the better buy; see aluminium hinged doors and aluminium back doors.

Height and price
Going from 2 100 mm to 2 400 mm adds between about R850 and R1 700 depending on the style, and 2 600 mm adds a little more again. A taller door suits a house with high ceilings or a double-volume kitchen, but most back and kitchen doors are 2 100 mm, which keeps aluminium stable door prices at their lowest.
What is included
Each stable door is supplied in its own frame with 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass in any glazed panel, made to order in 1–2 days. The frame is 10 mm smaller than the catalogue size each way. Coetz™ supplies only, so installation by your builder or installer is extra. Delivery is charged by zone at checkout, or you can collect free from our Laser Park workshop.
Keeping the cost down
- Choose 2 100 mm if the opening allows; taller doors cost more.
- Choose glass over cladding if privacy is not critical.
- Choose White, Bronze or Charcoal rather than Black or Natural Anodised.
- Build the opening to 900 mm wide, the only stable door width, so no custom work is needed.
- Order the door with your windows to share one delivery.

Ordering
Coetz™ stable doors are made to order and delivered across South Africa. Glazing in doors must meet SANS 10400-N, published by the South African Bureau of Standards. For the Y-Louvre version, see aluminium louvre doors; for all door sizes, see aluminium door sizes.
