Plan and price your patio enclosure

Tick the open sides, enter each opening between the walls or pillars, and choose what goes in it – sliding doors, Vistafold folding doors, fixed glass panels, or a door with fixed panels beside it. We match it to our standard sizes and price it straight away.

How the patio enclosure planner works

  1. Tick the open sides – the front, the left side and the right side of the patio.
  2. Enter each opening – the width between the walls or pillars and the height from the floor to the beam, in millimetres.
  3. Choose what goes in each opening – a sliding door, a Vistafold folding door, fixed glass panels, or a sliding door or Vistafold with fixed panels beside it (left, right or both sides, at the width you choose).
  4. Pick a colour – White, Bronze, Charcoal, Black or Natural Anodised.
  5. See the plan and the price – a drawing of every side, the products we will make and the total. Add everything to your cart, or send it to us for a quote.

Wide openings are split into equal units so they stay within our standard sizes, and openings taller than a standard door get a fixed glass toplight above. Every patio enclosure price comes from the same catalogue as our online estimator and our shop, so the planner, the cart and the invoice always agree.

Sliding, folding or fixed glass for your patio enclosure?

Sliding doors

Sliding doors are the most popular patio enclosure. The panels slide past each other, so nothing swings into the patio or the garden, and you choose how wide to open them. Our Patio range is the best value; Elite, StormSeal, Premier and Horizon are heavier systems for bigger or more exposed openings. Read more about aluminium sliding doors.

Vistafold folding doors

Vistafold folding doors stack to one side and open almost the full width of the patio – ideal when you want the patio and garden to become one space. Choose whether they fold out onto the garden or in towards the patio; the planner asks before it prices them. See our aluminium folding doors.

Fixed glass panels for the side of a patio enclosure

Fixed glass

Fixed glass is the lowest-cost way to close a side you do not walk through. It keeps out wind and rain while keeping the view. The planner uses full-height fixed glass panels up to 2 700 mm high, or fixed windows with a toplight above, whichever costs less for your patio enclosure.

Doors with fixed panels

Most patios combine both: a sliding door or Vistafold in the middle with full-height fixed glass panels on one or both sides. Choose “Sliding door + fixed panel” or “Vistafold + fixed panel”, set the panel width and whether it sits on the left, the right or both sides, and the planner sizes the door to fill the rest of the opening.

Measuring for a patio enclosure

Measure each opening between the walls or pillars at the top, middle and bottom, and the height on the left, centre and right, then use the smallest of each. Our measuring helper for doors does the sums for you and warns you when an opening is out of square. Sliding and folding doors need a level floor, so check the slab before you order.

What does a patio enclosure cost?

The cost of a patio enclosure depends on the size of the openings, how each side opens and the colour. Fixed glass costs the least, sliding doors sit in the middle and folding doors cost the most because of their extra hardware. Black and Natural Anodised cost the same as White, Bronze and Charcoal. The planner shows the exact price for your patio, excluding VAT and including it, before you commit to anything.

Safety glass and building rules

Doors and large panes near the floor must be glazed in safety glass under the South African building regulations, SANS 10400-N, published by the South African Bureau of Standards. Every patio enclosure from Coetz™ uses 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass as standard, so this is covered. Check with your local municipality whether your patio enclosure needs building plans.

Delivery, collection and installation

Your patio enclosure is supplied only – installation is not included, so your builder or installer fits it. Collect it free from our branch in Laser Park, Roodepoort, or have it delivered: the cost to your town is worked out at checkout, and you can check it first with the delivery calculator. Once you have ordered, follow your order on the track my order page.

Patio enclosure questions

Can I mix sliding doors and fixed glass?

Yes. Choose how each side opens – for example sliding doors at the front and fixed glass on the sides. Each side is planned and priced on its own.

My opening is wider than one door – what happens?

The planner splits it into equal units that fit our standard sizes and shows each unit on the drawing. If you would rather have a pillar in a different place, enter the openings on that side separately.

Can you quote instead?

Yes. If your patio is an unusual shape, has a sloping floor or needs a size we do not list, send us the sizes and a photo and we will quote your patio enclosure.
