Fixed ends or multi-sliding?
A door with fixed end panels (an OXXXXO layout) opens its centre panels, which suits a view you want framed all the time. A multi-sliding door has no fixed panels, so the panels stack and far more of the wall opens. It’s the choice for a pool deck or entertainment area where the room and the patio become one space. Every range goes up to 7 500 mm wide. For example, at 2 100 mm high:

Estates and apartments
- Estates in Bryanston, Lonehill, Douglasdale, Woodmead and Paulshof usually set the frame colour, often Charcoal or Black, and need plans approved before work starts. Product drawings show each door as viewed from inside.
- Apartments and penthouses in Sandton Central, Morningside and Rivonia need the trustees’ approval for a change to the facade. Large frames rarely fit in a lift, so plan stairs or a crane with the building manager.
Getting a 5 m door to site
- Oversized delivery: R950 within our Johannesburg zone (postcodes 2128, 2157 and 2196) or R1 350 elsewhere in Gauteng, charged once per order. Checkout works out the rate from your postcode (see delivery).
- Access: check that the frame can come through the estate gate, turn into the driveway and reach the opening.
- Collection from Unit 2, 84 Ridge Road, Laser Park is free, but a door this size needs a long trailer and several people.
Glass, lock and warranty
Every door has 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass, as SANS 10400-N requires for glazed doors. The exceptions are our Patio sliding doors and a few large Elite sliding door sizes, which use toughened safety glass. The standard is published by the South African Bureau of Standards. If a pane cracks, the interlayer holds the glass in place. Sliding doors close with a hook lock. Frames, glass and powder coating are covered for 5 years and hardware and seals for 2 years against manufacturing defects (see our warranty).
