Aluminium Sliding Doors Johannesburg

Coetz™ makes six ranges of aluminium sliding doors, from an affordable patio door to heavy multi-sliding systems. Choosing between them is the hardest part of buying aluminium sliding doors Johannesburg-side, so this page lines up all six at the same size and price. Every door is made to order at our Laser Park workshop in Johannesburg in 1–2 days, glazed with 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass and closes with a hook lock. The exceptions are our Patio sliding doors and a few large Elite sliding door sizes, which use toughened safety glass. You collect it free or have it delivered.

Coetz™ supplies only. Your builder or a door installer fits the doors.

Fixed panel or multi-sliding?

On a conventional sliding door, the sliding panel parks behind a fixed panel, so about half the opening clears. On a multi-sliding door every panel moves and the panels stack behind one another, so you can open far more of the wall. Multi-sliding costs more, but it changes how a living room and patio work together. See aluminium stacking doors.

Panel layouts and sizes

Layouts are read as viewed from inside, where O is a fixed panel and X a sliding panel:

  • OX (2 panel): 1 500 to 3 000 mm wide, for most patio doors.
  • OXX (3 panel): two sliding panels, for wider rooms.
  • OXXO (4 panel): fixed panels at both ends and two sliders in the middle.
  • OXXXXO (6 panel): for the widest openings, up to 7 500 mm.

Heights are 2 100 mm, 2 400 mm and, in most ranges, 2 700 mm. Our doors are made 10 mm smaller than the catalogue size for fitting. More detail is in sliding door configurations.

Security for Johannesburg homes

  • Hook lock: our sliding doors close with a hook lock that hooks into the frame.
  • Laminated glass: 6.38 mm laminated safety glass holds together when broken, so it is much harder to get through quickly than float glass.
  • Security gate: most Johannesburg homes add a sliding security gate or trellis door. Measure for it at the same time, and check that the new frame leaves it room to run.

Ordering Aluminium sliding doors Johannesburg: a five-point checklist

Most delays on aluminium sliding doors Johannesburg orders come from one of five details. Check them before you order:

  • Panel layout: two panels suit standard openings, and 4- and 6-panel doors suit wider ones. See sliding door configurations.
  • Which panel slides: every product drawing is shown from inside, so check which panel moves and which stays fixed.
  • Range: the Patio range is the most affordable; the Premier range uses heavier sections for wider, taller openings.
  • Threshold and track: on aluminium sliding doors Johannesburg patios that face the storm direction, a roof overhang or a step down outside keeps wind-driven rain off the bottom track.
  • Colour: White, Bronze and Charcoal cost the same; Black is about 10% more and Natural Anodised about 20% more.

Once those are settled, aluminium sliding doors Johannesburg orders are made in 1–2 days at our Laser Park workshop, then delivered from R650 excluding VAT in the Johannesburg zone or R950 elsewhere in Gauteng (checkout works it out from your postcode), or collected free. Coetz™ supplies only, so book your builder or installer for the delivery week.
