Gauteng’s summer storms arrive fast, often with hail, and the dry winters bring dust. Three habits keep a sliding door working:
- Shelter the track. A roof overhang or covered patio keeps wind-driven rain off the bottom track.
- Keep the drainage slots clear. Vacuum the track at the end of winter, before the first storm.
- Trust laminated glass in hail. If a hailstone or branch cracks a pane, the interlayer holds the glass in place.

- Choose the next standard size that fits. Doors are made 10 mm under the catalogue size for packers and sealant.
- Check the finished floor level, because the frame sits on the finished floor.
