Folding doors

A folding door folds its panels to one side, or to both sides with a bi-parting layout. It clears almost the whole opening between the lounge and the patio. Our Vista Duo Fold and Vistafold ranges go up to 3 600 mm wide in a single 2 100 mm high door, and up to 4 200 mm in the Vistafold. See aluminium folding doors.

Multi-sliding and stacking doors

On a multi-sliding door every panel slides, and the panels stack behind each other, so most of the opening clears without anything folding into the room. The Premier Multi and Horizon ranges are multi-sliding. The Premier range uses heavier sections for wide, tall openings, up to 7 500 mm wide. See aluminium stacking doors.

Sliding doors with fixed side panels

For the widest openings, a sliding door with fixed panes at each end, such as OXXO or OXXXXO, gives a wide view and two opening panels in the middle. See sliding door configurations.

Charcoal costs the same as White. Black costs about 10% more and Natural Anodised about 20% more. Taller doors of 2 400 mm and 2 700 mm are also available. The shop always shows the current price, and the online estimator prices a whole project at once.

Aluminium doors Sandton: estate and body corporate approval

Before you order aluminium doors in Sandton:

• Estates in Bryanston, Lonehill, Douglasdale, Woodmead and Paulshof usually set the frame colour (often Charcoal or Black) and the style in their architectural guidelines. Changes to the facade usually need the aesthetics committee’s approval.
• Apartments and sectional-title units in Morningside, Rivonia, Sunninghill, Illovo and Sandton Central usually need the trustees’ written approval. The new door must match the building.

Every Coetz™ door has 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass. That is required on glazed doors by SANS 10400-N, published by the South African Bureau of Standards. If the glass cracks, the interlayer holds it in place, which also makes it harder to get through quickly. Our sliding doors close with a hook lock. Many Sandton homes add a security gate or a retractable trellis door to the patio opening, so measure for it at the same time. We supply clear laminated glass only, not tinted or double-glazed.

• Within our Johannesburg zone, which includes postcodes 2128, 2157 and 2196, delivery costs R650 for standard items and R950 for oversized items. • Estates: give security the delivery details in advance, and check that a frame of more than 3 m can turn from the gate into your driveway.
