Aluminium doors Midrand townhouses need most often are patio doors: usually a two- or three-panel sliding door between 1 500 and 2 400 mm wide. When it sticks, leaks or no longer locks properly, most owners replace the whole unit. Coetz™ makes aluminium doors to order at Laser Park in Johannesburg, with every price online and every door glazed with 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass. The exceptions are our Patio sliding doors and a few large Elite sliding door sizes, which use toughened safety glass. This page compares the sliding door ranges that fit townhouse openings and covers complex approval, prices and delivery.
Coetz™ supplies only. Your builder or a door installer fits the doors.

Which one for a townhouse?
- Patio suits most replacements where the budget matters most.
- StormSeal lets you choose the threshold. The low threshold is easier to step over; the high threshold suits a door that faces the weather.
- Elite steps up the interlocker on larger doors.
- Horizon is the choice when you want every panel to move.

Replacing a patio door in a Midrand complex
Complexes in Vorna Valley, Halfway Gardens, Noordwyk, Carlswald and Erand Gardens are usually sectional-title schemes:
- Get the trustees’ approval in writing. The door is part of the building’s exterior.
- Match the other units. Keep the colour, number of panels and which panel slides the same. The product drawing shows the door as viewed from inside.
- Measure once the old frame is out. Measure the width at three heights and the height at both sides, and use the smallest figure. Our doors are made 10 mm smaller than the catalogue size.
- Keep the security gate working. Check that the new frame leaves room for the existing gate to run.
Other doors for Midrand homes
- Back and scullery doors: a single hinged door with a Large Pane costs R7 566 (900 × 2 100 mm). Choose whether it opens in or out when you order.
- Stable doors: the top half opens on its own, useful for pets and children. A glass stable door costs R11 652 (see aluminium stable doors).
- Estate homes in Kyalami, Blue Hills and Waterfall often have wider openings. See aluminium folding doors and aluminium stacking doors.

Delivery to Midrand
- Postcodes 1684 and 1685 are inside our Johannesburg zone: R650 for standard items and R950 for doors over 2 400 mm, charged once per order.
- Other Midrand postcodes are charged at our Gauteng rate of R950 (R1 350 oversized). Checkout works out the rate from your postcode (see delivery).
- Free collection from Unit 2, 84 Ridge Road, Laser Park. A 2 100 mm door frame fits flat on a bakkie when it is properly secured.

Glass, lock and warranty
Every door has 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass, as SANS 10400-N requires for glazed doors. The standard is published by the South African Bureau of Standards. Our sliding doors close with a hook lock. Frames, glass and powder coating are covered for 5 years and hardware and seals for 2 years against manufacturing defects (see our warranty).

Ordering Aluminium doors Midrand: a five-point checklist
Most delays on aluminium doors Midrand orders come from one of five details. Check them before you order:
- Size: measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom and on both sides, use the smallest figure and choose the next standard size down. Doors are made 10 mm under the catalogue size for packers and sealant.
- Floor level: the frame sits on the finished floor, so on aluminium doors Midrand renovations with tiles still to be laid, allow for the tile height.
- Opening direction: every product drawing is shown from inside, so check which panel slides or which way the leaf opens.
- Glass: 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass is standard, with obscure and tinted glass priced in the online estimator.
- Colour: White, Bronze and Charcoal cost the same; Black is about 10% more and Natural Anodised about 20% more.
Once those are settled, aluminium doors Midrand orders are made in 1–2 days at our Laser Park workshop, then delivered from R650 excluding VAT in the Johannesburg zone or R950 elsewhere in Gauteng (checkout works it out from your postcode), or collected free. Coetz™ supplies only, so book your builder or installer for the delivery week.
