Folding doors

Multi-sliding doors

Sliding doors with a fixed panel

A conventional sliding door parks its sliding panels behind a fixed panel. It opens less of the wall but costs the least. See sliding door configurations.

Taller 2 400 mm doors are available in most ranges. Charcoal and Bronze cost the same as White; Black costs about 10% more and Natural Anodised about 20% more. The shop and the online estimator always show the current price.

Planning a patio door in a Fourways estate

1. Check the guidelines. Most estates set the frame colour, often Charcoal or Black, and want plans approved before building work.
2. Decide which way panels stack. Pick a side where the stacked panels won’t block a walkway or a braai.
3. Mind the floor. The frame sits on the finished floor level, so allow for patio tiles that are still to be laid.
4. Plan the security gate. Many homes add a trellis or security gate inside a large patio opening. Measure for it at the same time.

Front, garage and scullery doors

Not every door opens onto a patio. For a front entrance, a pivot door turns on a pivot at the head and floor and suits wide, double-height entrances. Glass, locks and warranty

Every door has 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass, as SANS 10400-N requires for glazed doors. The exceptions are our Patio sliding doors and a few large Elite sliding door sizes, which use toughened safety glass. The standard is published by the South African Bureau of Standards. Our sliding doors close with a hook lock. Frames, glass and powder coating are covered for 5 years and hardware and seals for 2 years against manufacturing defects (see our warranty).
