How a bi-fold differs from a sliding door
A slider always keeps at least one panel across the opening. A bi-fold concertinas its panels together and stacks them against the reveal, so a much larger share of the 2.4 m is clear when fully opened. The trade-off is that the stacked panels occupy space at the side, and there are more moving parts and hinges to keep clean and aligned. Bi-folds are the least tolerant of movement of any door type: the head must be straight and adequately supported, because deflection in the lintel shows up immediately as panels that will not align or latch. Confirm the structural head, the floor level and the stacking side before ordering.

This is a made-to-order unit with a lead time of 1–2 days from order. Aluminium windows and doors are supplied only — installation is arranged by your own builder or installer, which keeps the manufactured product separate from the installation contract. Collection is from Laser Park, Roodepoort, with Gauteng delivery and national supply options depending on the order and destination.
If your opening does not match this size, we manufacture to your dimensions — send the structural opening width and height and we will confirm what can be built. Final responsibility for measurements rests with the customer, so check the opening before ordering.
