Planning for the Limpopo bushveld climate
Aluminium windows and doors Mokopane buyers should plan for hot summers with heavy afternoon thunderstorms, mild, dry, sunny winters with cool nights, and dust in the dry months. Three practical choices follow:
- Top hung windows can stay open in light rain, so rooms stay ventilated through summer storms. See top hung aluminium windows.
- Cut the glare. West-facing windows and sliding doors can take the tinted glass options priced in the online estimator.
- Keep dust out of the tracks. Vacuum sliding window and door tracks often in the dry months so grit does not wear the rollers.
Aluminium does not rot or swell after summer storms, and a roof overhang keeps the worst of the sun off the glass.
