Planning for the Vaal Highveld climate
Aluminium windows and doors Vereeniging buyers should plan for hot summers with afternoon thunderstorms and hail, cold, dry winters with frost, and industrial haze and dust on still days. Three practical choices follow:
- Frame the river view. Wide sliding doors or folding doors open a lounge to the stoep on Vaal River properties.
- Top hung windows can stay open in light rain, so rooms stay ventilated through summer storms. See top hung aluminium windows.
- Keep dust out of the tracks. Vacuum sliding window and door tracks often, and wipe frames when you clean the glass.
For aluminium windows and doors Vereeniging homes, laminated safety glass holds together if summer hail cracks a pane, which keeps the opening closed until it is replaced.
