Aluminium windows and doors quote: how it works
- Upload your plan. In the estimator, choose Your drawing and upload a PDF, JPG, PNG or a phone photo of your plan, up to 10 MB.
- List the openings. Copy each window, door, shopfront or toplight from the plan with its reference, such as W1 or D2, and its size in millimetres, and choose one colour for the whole job.
- Get the price. The estimator prices the whole list at once. Windows and doors are priced at the next catalogue size up and made to fit your opening; shopfronts and toplights are priced to their exact size.
- Order or send it. Pay online by card or instant EFT, or send the estimate to us to check first.
If you are pricing one opening at a time, choose Windows or Doors instead: enter the width and height, choose the design, frame, colour and glass, and the price and a technical drawing appear as you type. Add each one to the cart to build up the whole house.
What you need before you start
- A plan or a list of openings, from your architect, builder or a sketch you made yourself.
- The size of every opening, measured as the brick opening, width first, in millimetres; see how to measure aluminium windows and how to measure aluminium doors.
- A reference for each opening, such as W1, W2 and D1, so the quote matches the plan; our window schedule guide shows how to set one out.
- Your colour: White, Bronze, Charcoal, Black or Natural Anodised, all at the same price.
- Any rooms that need special glass, such as obscure glass in bathrooms.

Here is a typical 3-bedroom house, priced at regular shop prices excluding VAT, with windows in the Casement 28 frame and every item in White:

Collect the order free from Laser Park instead and the delivery charge falls away. Every window in the example has 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass as standard, which meets SANS 10400-N, published by the SABS.
Aluminium windows and doors quote: what changes the total
- Frame: the same seven windows in the 30.5 mm Standard frame instead of Casement 28 add about R3 632 excluding VAT; the Standard frame is the one to choose for double glazing.
- Glass: obscure glass adds R248 per m², tinted and solar glass more, and double glazing R1 952.50 per m² on the frames that take it.
- Extras: burglar bars and roll-up fly screens can be added to each opener in the estimator.
- Size: an opening between catalogue sizes is priced at the next size up.
- Delivery: R650 excluding VAT within 60 km of Laser Park, or R950 if the order includes items over 2 400 mm, plus R4.50 per km beyond 60 km, there and back; collection is free.
Colour never changes the price, and nor does the opening direction on hinged and stable doors.
New builds and renovations
On a new build, get your aluminium windows and doors quote before the walls go up: give your builder the plan with our standard sizes, so every opening is built to suit and nothing needs to be cut or packed out. On a renovation, measure each existing opening, because older houses are rarely square, and price each window to the size you actually have. Either way, the estimate gives you a firm budget before you commit, and you can change a size, a frame or a colour and see the new total straight away.
Aluminium windows and doors quote for shopfronts
Shopfronts are priced to your exact opening in the estimator, and you can design your own: split the bays, add transoms and toplights, and place single or double hinged doors, a manual sliding door or an automatic sliding door. Shopfronts are installed by MC Automations, and installation is quoted separately after a site measure. See custom shopfronts.
Is the estimate the final price?
For catalogue windows and doors, yes: the estimator uses the same prices as our online shop, and every price is checked again on our side before you pay. Shopfront sizes are confirmed after a site measure, and if a size changes, the new price is agreed with you before anything is made. Prices are supply only and exclude VAT; fitting is done by your own builder or installer.

Every estimate can be saved as an A4 technical drawing in PDF, showing your sizes, design, colour and estimate number. Give it to your builder so the openings are built to suit, or keep it with your plans. Every drawing is shown from inside, so you can check which panes open and which way the doors swing before you order.

- Measure every opening yourself, even if the plan shows a size; built openings are often a little different.
- Use one colour and one frame for the whole house; it looks better and keeps the order simple.
- Check the opening direction of every hinged and stable door before you order; it is built into the door.
- Price the whole house in one go, so delivery is charged once.
