What Is an Automatic Swing Door?
An automatic swing door uses a powered operator to open and close a conventional hinged door. Instead of replacing the entrance with a sliding system, the operator automates the swing leaf you already know — which makes it well suited to offices, clinics, controlled-access doors and accessible entrances.
Because the operator works the door through an arm, the whole entrance must be assessed together: the operator, arm type, door weight, door width, handing, opening direction, frame strength, locking, safety sensors and access-control requirements all influence each other. The MCW-100 platform supports inward-opening and outward-opening arrangements using pull-arm and push-arm configurations.

Automatic Swing Door Configurations
Inward-Opening Automatic Swing Doors
For a door that opens into the building, the arm arrangement depends on which side of the wall the operator is mounted and the required opening direction. Mounting position, reveal depth and header strength are confirmed during assessment so the arm geometry works through the full opening angle.
Outward-Opening Automatic Swing Doors
Outward-opening doors may require a different arm arrangement and mounting geometry from inward-opening doors. The same operator platform covers both directions, but the arm type, projection and fixing details change — which is why opening direction is one of the first questions in our quotation form.
Push-Arm Automatic Swing Doors
In a push-arm arrangement the operator pushes the door leaf open using an articulated arm. It is typically used where the operator is mounted on the opposite side of the wall from the direction the door swings.
Pull-Arm Automatic Swing Doors
In a pull-arm arrangement the operator pulls the leaf using a slide rail or pull-arm assembly. It is typically used where the operator is mounted on the same side as the swing direction. The correct choice between push and pull arm follows from the mounting position and opening direction — it is confirmed during technical assessment, not guessed.
Single Automatic Swing Doors
A single-leaf automatic swing door is the most common commercial arrangement: one operator, one leaf, with the activation and safety devices configured for the entrance. It suits offices, clinics, staff entrances and controlled-access doors.
Paired Automatic Swing Doors
Coordinated paired-door operation is possible, subject to the correct master/slave setup and overall system design. The two operators are configured so the leaves sequence correctly, and the source platform maintains the leaf sequence even when an obstacle is encountered. Paired operation is engineered per project — it is not a plug-and-play addition.
Aluminium-Framed Automatic Swing Doors
Coetz™ manufactures custom aluminium leaves and frames with the operator in mind from the start: reinforced mounting zones, hardware preparation, lock coordination and hinge specification all matched to the automated duty of the door.
Glass Automatic Swing Doors
Frameless glass swing doors can be automated, but the installation requires the correct glass clamps, arm arrangement, clearances and a full technical assessment. The source platform provides dedicated pull-arm and push-arm arrangements for glass doors using purpose-made clamp hardware.
MCW-100 Automatic Swing Door Operator
The MCW-100 is a compact automatic swing-door operator for suitable aluminium, framed, timber, metal and glass swing-door applications, subject to door size, weight, mounting and site assessment. It is available as an operator only, as part of a custom Coetz™ automatic swing-door package, or as a possible replacement operator subject to compatibility assessment.
Door width and weight capacity are interdependent. Final suitability depends on the door leaf, hinges, wind load, opening resistance, arm geometry and installation conditions. Stated limits were tested without wind pressure; doors used near the limit range should run at reduced speed.
Safety and Installation
Automatic swing doors must be assessed, installed, programmed and commissioned by competent personnel. Safety sensors, operating forces, door condition, locking and access-control functions must be configured for the specific entrance. The manufacturer requires installation to be carried out by appointed or professional installation personnel in accordance with local law. Coetz™ arranges installation, quoted separately, through MC Automations, Coetz™’s parent company.

What is the maximum door weight?
The maximum stated door weight is 150 kg, tested without wind pressure. Not every 150 kg door is automatically suitable — the width-versus-weight operating range, hinges, wind load and opening resistance are assessed per door, and doors near the limit range should run at reduced speed.
Can it operate inward-opening and outward-opening doors?
Yes. Inward-opening and outward-opening arrangements are supported using pull-arm and push-arm configurations, chosen according to the mounting position and opening direction.
What is the difference between a push arm and pull arm?

Can it be installed on a glass door?
Yes, subject to technical assessment. Glass-door installations require the correct glass-clamp hardware and arm arrangement, which the platform provides for both push-arm and pull-arm configurations.
Is the operator suitable for outdoor doors?
The operator has an IP21 protection class and an operating range of −20°C to +55°C. Exposure, wind load and weather protection are assessed per entrance — suitability for a specific exposed door is confirmed during technical assessment.

Yes. Coetz™ designs and manufactures custom aluminium and glass swing doors and the surrounding shopfront work, so the door, frame and operator preparation are coordinated from the start.
Is installation included?
No. Installation, electrical work, access-control wiring, programming and commissioning are excluded unless specifically included in a written quotation. Automatic swing doors must be installed and commissioned by competent personnel; Coetz™ quotes this separately and arranges it through MC Automations, Coetz™’s parent company.
