Looking after French doors
Wipe the frames and glass with mild soapy water, never an abrasive cleaner, which scratches the powder coat. Lubricate the hinges and lock with a dry silicone spray once or twice a year, and check the seals before winter. If a leaf starts to catch where the two doors meet, have your installer check that the frame is square and the hinges are tight.
Measuring
Measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom, and at both sides, and use the smallest size. Choose the standard pair that fits within it; the actual frame is 10 mm smaller than the catalogue size each way, which leaves the installer room to pack and seal the frame.
