Where aluminium french doors work best
Aluminium french doors are a classic double-door opening — two hinged leaves that swing open from the centre to connect a room with a patio, garden or balcony. They suit homes and venues that want a symmetrical, elegant opening rather than a sliding stack. Aluminium french doors give a wide, welcoming entrance, flood interiors with light through large glass panels, and close to a neat, secure seal. Slim aluminium frames and 6.38mm laminated safety glass keep the look modern while standing up to South African weather with minimal upkeep.
Configurations, colours and glass
We supply aluminium french doors as a pair, with optional side or top fixed panels to fill wider or taller openings. Frames are powder-coated in White, Bronze, Charcoal, Black or Natural Anodised, with lockable hardware for security. Standard glazing is 6.38mm clear laminated safety glass. Every set of aluminium french doors is available in standard sizes for fast supply or made to measure for a perfect fit. Prefer a sliding action instead? Delivery and installation
Coetz™ supplies aluminium french doors direct across South Africa — factory-direct pricing, supply-only, delivered nationwide. Standard sizes ship quickly; custom sizes are manufactured to order. We provide fitting guidance so your builder or installer can hang the leaves square and adjust them to close evenly for a professional, secure finish.
Security, energy efficiency and low maintenance
A quality double glass door has to do more than look good. The aluminium frames used here are strong and slim, resisting warping and rot in a way timber cannot, and they never need painting — an occasional wipe keeps them looking new. The laminated safety glass improves impact resistance and cuts outside noise. Good seals reduce draughts, helping keep conditioned air in during hot summers and cold Highveld winters. Because aluminium is fully recyclable and long-lasting, it is an environmentally sound choice for a door you will open and close for decades.
Choosing the right double-door opening
The classic hinged pair is ideal for openings up to a moderate width where you want a symmetrical, formal look and an unobstructed view when open. For very wide openings a sliding or folding system may suit better, and for a single access point a hinged single door works well. Think about which way the leaves should swing, whether you need fixed side or top panels to fill the opening, and how the doors relate to furniture and traffic flow. Our team helps you weigh these details so the finished opening works for the room, the view and the way you live.
