Planning for the Breede Valley climate
Aluminium windows and doors Worcester buyers should plan for hot, dry summers, cool winters when most of the year’s rain arrives with cold fronts, and strong wind on some days. Three practical choices follow:
- Top hung windows can stay open in winter rain, so rooms stay ventilated while the fronts pass through. See top hung aluminium windows.
- Open-out doors on weather-facing walls. Open-in doors are not recommended where wind-driven winter rain can reach them.
- Shade the summer glass. A roof overhang or tinted glass on west-facing windows keeps rooms cooler on hot valley afternoons.
Aluminium does not rot or swell after a wet winter the way timber can, and the powder coat only needs a wash.
