Planning for the Mpumalanga Highveld climate
Aluminium windows and doors Middelburg buyers should plan for warm summers with afternoon thunderstorms and hail, cold, dry winters with frost, and coal dust and haze on still days. Three practical choices follow:
- Keep dust out of the tracks. Vacuum sliding window and door tracks often so grit does not wear the rollers, and wipe the frames when you clean the glass.
- Let in the winter sun. North-facing windows and sliding doors warm a room on cold, clear Highveld days.
- Top hung windows can stay open in light rain, so rooms stay ventilated through summer storms. See top hung aluminium windows.
For aluminium windows and doors Middelburg homes, laminated safety glass holds together if summer hail cracks a pane, and powder-coated frames wipe clean of dust.
