In this guide
Planning for the Limpopo Lowveld climate
Aluminium windows and doors Phalaborwa buyers should plan for hot, humid summers with heavy afternoon thunderstorms, mild, dry winters and strong sun most of the year. Three practical choices follow:
- Ventilate well. Side hung windows open wide for a cross-breeze, and top hung windows can stay open in a summer shower.
- Cut the glare. West-facing windows and sliding doors can take the tinted glass options priced in the online estimator.
- Clear the drainage. Keep the drainage slots in sliding tracks clear so heavy summer rain runs out rather than in.
Aluminium does not rot or swell in Lowveld humidity, and a roof overhang keeps the worst of the sun off the glass.
